“Junto a la Cruz de Jesús estaba su Madre” Jn 19, 25
¡PAZ Y BENDICIONES!
Hermanos y hermanas misioneros, les saludo con gran afecto en Cristo nuestro Señor; deseo que cada uno de ustedes se encuentre bien, y perseverando en su vida de fe y comunidad.
Con gran esperanza y alegría, la Iglesia nos invita a celebrar el día 15 de Septiembre a la virgen María, en su advocación de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad o de los Dolores. Unidos a la parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Soledad en Coachella, (Lugar donde se encuentra nuestro Programa Misionero) nos alegramos con la celebración de los 100 años de haber sido erigida parroquia.
Queridos hermanos misioneros, tengamos a bien detenernos en la mirada. ¡Qué importante es! ¡Cuántas cosas pueden decirse con una mirada! Afecto, aliento, compasión, amor, pero también reproche, envidia, soberbia, incluso odio. Con frecuencia, la mirada dice más que las palabras, o dice aquello que las palabras no pueden o no se atreven a decir. ¿A quién mira la Virgen María? Nos mira a todos, a cada uno de nosotros. Y, ¿cómo nos mira? Nos mira como Madre, con ternura, con misericordia, con amor. Así ha mirado al hijo Jesús en todos los momentos de su vida, gozosos, luminosos, dolorosos, gloriosos, como contemplamos en los Misterios del Santo Rosario, simplemente con amor.
Cuando estamos cansados, desanimados, abrumados por los problemas, volvámonos a María, sintamos su mirada que dice a nuestro corazón: “¡Animo, hijo, que yo te sostengo!” La Virgen nos conoce bien, es madre, sabe muy bien cuáles son nuestras alegrías y nuestras dificultades, nuestras esperanzas y nuestras desilusiones. Cuando sintamos el peso de nuestras debilidades, de nuestros pecados, volvámonos a María, que dice a nuestro corazón: “! Levántate, acude a mi Hijo Jesús!, en él encontrarás acogida, misericordia y nueva fuerza para continuar el camino”.
La mirada de María no se dirige solamente a nosotros. Al pie de la cruz, cuando Jesús le confía al Apóstol Juan, y con él a todos nosotros, diciendo: “Mujer, ahí tienes a tu hijo” (Jn 19,26), los ojos de María están fijos en Jesús. Y María nos dice, como en las Bodas de Caná: «Haced lo que él os diga» (Jn 2,5). Como misioneros hemos de recordar que María indica a Jesús, nos invita a dar testimonio de Jesús, nos guía siempre a su Hijo Jesús, porque sólo en él hay salvación, sólo él puede trasformar el agua de la soledad, de la dificultad, del pecado, en el vino del encuentro, de la alegría, del perdón. Sólo él. María es bienaventurada por su fe en Dios, por su fe, porque la mirada de su corazón ha estado siempre fija en Dios, en el Hijo de Dios que ha llevado en su seno y que ha contemplado en la cruz. ¡Oh María!, haznos sentir tu mirada de Madre, guíanos a tu Hijo, haz que no seamos cristianos “de escaparate”, sino de los que saben “mancharse la manos” para construir con tu Hijo Jesús su Reino de amor, de alegría y de paz.

PEACE AND BLESSINGS!
Missionary brothers and sisters, I greet you with great affection in Christ our Lord; I hope that each one of you is well, and persevering in your life of faith and community.
With great hope and joy, the Church invites us to celebrate the Virgin Mary on September 15, in her invocation of Our Lady of Solitude or Sorrows. United to the parish of Our Lady of Solitude in Coachella, (The place where our Missionary Program is located) we rejoice with the celebration of the 100 years of having been erected parish.
Dear missionary brothers, let us kindly pause in our gaze. How important it is! How many things can be said with a glance? Affection, encouragement, compassion, and love, but also reproach, envy, pride, and even hatred. Often, the gaze says more than the words or says what the words cannot or do not dare to say. Who does the Virgin Mary look at? He looks at all of us, at each one of us. And how does he look at us? She looks at us as Mother, with tenderness, with mercy, with love. Thus he looked at the Son Jesus in all the moments of his life, joyful, luminous, sorrowful, glorious, as we contemplate in the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, simply with love.
When we are tired, discouraged, or overwhelmed by problems, let us turn to Mary, let us feel her gaze that says to our heart: "I encourage, child, that I sustain you!" Our Lady knows us well, she is a mother, she knows very well what our joys and our difficulties are, our hopes and our disappointments. When we feel the weight of our weaknesses, of our sins, let us turn to Mary, who says to our heart: "! Get up, go to my Son Jesus, in him you will find welcome, mercy, and new strength to continue on the journey".
Mary's gaze is not directed only to us. At the foot of the Cross, when Jesus entrusts to the Apostle John, and with him to all of us, saying: "Woman, behold your son" (Jn 19:26), Mary's eyes are fixed on Jesus. And Mary tells us, as at the wedding at Cana: "Do whatever he tells you" (Jn 2:5). As missionaries we must remember that Mary indicates Jesus, invites us to bear witness to Jesus, always guides us to her Son Jesus, because only in him there is salvation, only he can transform the water of loneliness, of difficulty, of sin, into the wine of encounter, of joy, of forgiveness. Only him. Mary is blessed by her faith in God, by her faith, because the gaze of her heart has permanently been fixed on God, on the Son of God whom she carried in her womb and whom she contemplated on the Cross. O Mary, make us feel your gaze as a Mother, guide us to your Son, make us not Christians "of showcase", but of those who know how to "stain their hands" to build with your Son Jesus his Kingdom of love, joy and peace.
