¡Paz y bendiciones!

Hermanos misioneros, la paz de Cristo el Señor reine en sus corazones y en la vida de sus familias y comunidades. Con gran esperanza les envió mi saludo y cercanía en la oración.

Uno de los grandes signos que todo misionero ha de albergar en su corazón y que ha de manifestar en su diario vivir es la paz. Así dice el Señor: “Yo haré derivar hacia ella (Jerusalén) como un río la paz”, así describe el profeta Isaías la forma en que se compromete Dios con su pueblo y abre la esperanza de algo nuevo en medio de la dificultad. La paz y la misericordia de Dios vengan…sobre quienes son criaturas nuevas y se glorían en la cruz de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, desea Pablo. Cuando entren en una casa, digan primero: “Paz a esta casa”, (Lc 10, 5) recomienda Jesús a los que envía por delante de él.

La Iglesia ha venido creciendo en sensibilidad hacia la necesidad de evangelizar nuestro mundo y hacerlo caminando juntos todos los bautizados. La paz es un regalo de Dios que podemos saborear si nos hacemos criaturas nuevas. Anunciar, con palabras y con acciones eficaces, que el Reino de Dios está cerca tiene mucho que ver con anunciar paz, desearla y construirla.

El mensaje de la Escritura Lc 10, 1-12 es muy relevante en el ser y quehacer de un misionero; pero a la vez es significativo ya que lo primero que han de hacer los enviados es orar al dueño de la mies (que es Jesucristo). No se apunta uno a esta tarea porque le apetece, le atrae o se le da bien. La iniciativa es de Dios que ha querido contar con cada uno, para que vaya “en su nombre” y hable de él y no de uno mismo o de lo que a uno se le ocurra, o de mis "cuestiones personales”... Ha de ser al estilo del dueño de la mies, y en su nombre.  Además, al ver que hay tanta mies y al orar al dueño de la mies, esa oración me tiene que cuestionar a mí mismo en primer lugar. Porque parte de la mies, “me toca a mí”. No oramos sólo para que vayan otros. Y además oramos con otros, para que crezca el número de los obreros. 

La misión que Jesús encomienda a sus 72 enviados, y que hoy nos encomienda a nosotros en primer lugar  es que “despejen” el camino, que preparen al personal para que Él pueda llegar en el momento que sea. Por una parte, se trata de evitar el protagonismo, que se confunda al mensajero con el mensaje: es Cristo de quien hay que hablar. No de uno mismo, ni del propio grupo o comunidad. Y por otra, se trata de acciones que hoy llamaríamos tareas de humanización porque en el Reino de Jesús va todo esto: ser portadores de paz y compartir esa paz, curar a los enfermos; hay tantas heridas y enfermedades físicas y espirituales que necesitan atención, acompañamiento y sanación. No es necesario que tengamos poderes para hacer milagros, pero sí el milagro de ser signos de que el Dios del que somos testigos es un Dios de la salud, del bienestar, interesado por el dolor de las personas. Como misioneros estamos llamados a ser congruentes con nuestro llamado y envío a la misión. La virgen María siga acompañando nuestro caminar de fe en la vida misionera.

• El próximo retiro de silencio se realizará del 15-17 de julio 2022, ya están abiertas las inscripciones. Es cupo limitado a 14 personas. Si desea participar llame o venga a la oficina del PMV para su reservación.
• Les anuncio que ya se nos ha permitido abrir el centro misionero para realizar los Encuentros, debemos asumir algunos protocolos de salud con respecto al COVID-19, pido de su comprensión y prudencia. Estaremos celebrando el Encuentro #205 en el mes de septiembre 2022.
• El día 12 de Julio se realizaré el rezo del santo Rosario en el centro misionero. Hora 6:30 pm. 
• Las comunidades ya se pueden reunir presencialmente, sean cuidadosos. Si hay comunidades que no se quieren reunir presencialmente, pueden reunirse por Zoom, pero es importante ya reunirse y participar en la vida de la comunidad.
• El comité central Guadalupano y el comité local (PMV y la parroquia Ntra. Señora de la soledad, Coachella) están ofreciendo boletos para una actividad de recaudación de fondos para la peregrinación guadalupana de este año. Por favor apoyemos estas actividades, más información comunicarse con Gilberto Ruiz 760-880-0159.

Peace and blessings!

Brother missionaries, may the peace of Christ the Lord reign in your hearts and in the life of your families and communities. With great hope, he sent them my greeting and closeness in prayer.

One of the great signs that every missionary must harbor in his heart and that he must manifest in his daily life in peace. Thus says the Lord: "I will make peace drift towards it (Jerusalem) like a river", this is how the prophet Isaiah describes the way in which God commits himself to his people and opens the hope of something new in the midst of difficulty. God's peace and mercy come... upon those who are new creatures and glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, Paul desires. When you enter a house, say first: "Peace to this house", (Lk 10:5) Jesus recommends those he sends ahead of him.

The Church has been growing in sensitivity to the need to evangelize our world and to do so by walking together all the baptized. Peace is a gift from God that we can savor if we become new creatures. Proclaiming, with words and practical actions, that the Kingdom of God is near has much to do with proclaiming peace, desiring it, and building it.

The message of Scripture Lk 10:1-12 is very relevant in the being and work of a missionary, but at the same time, it is significant since the first thing that the envoys have to do is to pray to the owner of the harvest (which is Jesus Christ). One does not sign up for this task because he feels like it, attracts him or is good at it. The initiative is of God who has wanted to count on each one so that he goes "in his name" and speaks of him and not of himself or of what one comes up with, or of my "personal issues"...It must be in the style of the owner of the harvest, and in his name.  Also, seeing that there is so much harvest and praying to the owner of the harvest, that prayer has to question me in the first place. Because part of the harvest, "it's my turn." We don't pray just for others to go. And we also pray with others, that the number of workers may grow. 

The mission that Jesus entrusts to his 72 envoys, and that today he entrusts to us in the first place, is to "clear" the way, to prepare the staff so that He can arrive at any time. On the one hand, it is a question of avoiding protagonism, that the messenger is confused with the message: it is Christ of whom we must speak. Not from oneself, nor from one's own group or community. And on the other, these are actions that today we would call humanization tasks because in the Kingdom of Jesus all this goes: to be bearers of peace and to share that peace, to heal the sick; there are so many physical and spiritual wounds and illnesses that need attention, accompaniment, and healing. It is not necessary that we have the power to perform miracles, but the miracle of being signs that the God we are witnessing is a God of health, well-being, interested in the pain of people. As missionaries, we are called to be consistent with our calling and sending to the mission. May the Virgin Mary continue to accompany our walk of faith in missionary life.

Updates

• Missionary brothers and sisters, we would like to encourage you to continue sending your donation to support the VMP program. May God continue to bless your generosity. 
• The next silence retreat will be held from July 15-17, 2022, registration is now open. It is limited to 14 people. If you wish to participate call or come to the PMV office for your reservation.
• We have been allowed to open the missionary center to carry out the meetings. However,  we must follow certain health protocols and recommendations regarding COVID-19. I ask for your understanding and prudence as we start taking these next steps.
• We will be celebrating Meeting #205 in the month of September 2022.
• On July 12, the recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at the missionary center at 6:30 pm.
• Faith Communities can now meet in person. We continue to recommend practicing safe and CDC recommendations for gatherings.  If there are communities that do not want to meet in person, they can continue to meet via Zoom. It is important to meet and participate in the life of the community whether it is virtual or in person. 
• The Guadalupano central committee and the local committee (PMV and the parish Ntra. Señora de la Soledad, Coachella) are offering tickets for a fundraising activity for this year's Guadalupan pilgrimage. We appreciate your support in advance.
